PERSONAL STATEMENT

March 27, 2000

Non-lmmigration Visa Section

American Embassy

Seoul, Korea

Dear Sir / Madam

My name is Kim, Ji-Gun and I am applying for F-1 visa.

I graduated from Hanyang University with Master's degree in 1999. After graduating, I have attended lee, lk-Hoon Institute for studying English and preparing TOEFL.

I would like to explain why I decided to study Chiropratic.

When I was in graduate school, I got to know about Chiropratic for the first time. Chiropratic is much related to my major in undergraduate and graduate school and one of my friends in Palmer College of Chiropractic currently recommended me to come to Palmer for studtying Chiropractic. Especially, the reason I decided to study Chiropractic firmly is that my mother was suffering from the ruptured disk for a long time. However, she was cured by Chiropractic. So I got interested in the field of Chiropractic and decided to study Chiropratic in the US where the Chiropractic area is much more advanced than other countries.

So I started studying TOEFL to get an admission from Palmer College of Chiropratic when I was in the last semester of graduate school. And I took TOEFL on August 1999 and then applied to Palmer College of Chiropratic.

Unfortunately, I need to complete the prerequisites at Scott Community College first to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic. That is why I apply for F-1 visa with I-20 from Scott Community College at this time. However, my final goal is to receive Ph. D degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic and then to contribute my skills and career to my community and my country.

I have received so much help and support from my friend in Palmer and alumni of Palmer so far. Also, all staff at Admission Department in Palmer College of Chiropractic are wondering about me because I have contacted and bothered them so many times and they really want to meet me, I think. I would like to repay their support by completing my study at Palmer College of Chiropractic successfully.

I would like to mention my financial situation. My mother who is my sponsor has two businesses in Pusan and makes the sufficient income for supporting my study in the US. Moreover, she leases two houses and earns monthly lent fees.

So I am sure that I do not have any financial problems to study in the US.

I hope that I will practice my own Chiropractic clinic in Korea and work for one of members of Korea Chiropractic Association (KCA) after completing my study in Palmer College of Chiropractic.

I hope that you consider my all effort and situation.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Yours Faithfully,
